at the University of Delaware

We are pleased to host the symposium in the Audion, an accessible and flexible space located on the ground floor of the Tower at UD’s STAR campus in Newark, Delaware. The venue is easily reached by car and train (see below for directions and parking details).

  • From the north

    Take I-95 South to Delaware Exit 1-B — Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. Continue straight on South College Avenue for about two miles, past such landmarks as the Bob Carpenter/Sports Convocation Center, Delaware Stadium, and the Delaware Field House. At the stoplight at Inspiration Drive, take a u-turn and then turn right onto Healthy Way. After 50 feet, take the left turn into the STAR CAMPUS and head to “event” parking.

    From the south

    Take I-95 North to Delaware Exit 1 — Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4.     From the west

    Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Route 283 South. Continue on Route 283 South, which becomes Route 30 East outside of Lancaster, to Route 896 South. Continue straight on South College Avenue, past such landmarks as the Bob Carpenter/Sports Convocation Center, Delaware Stadium, and the Delaware Field House. At the stoplight at Inspiration Drive, take a u-turn and then turn right onto Healthy Way. After 50 feet, take the left turn into the STAR CAMPUS and head to “event” parking.

  • Parking at the STAR tower is free and located close to the Audion. Please consult this map to locate the event parking lot.

Health & Well-being

The well-being of our conference participants and guests is our first priority. We ask that you consider taking a test before attending the symposium (especially if you have traveled to join us), wearing a mask if you believe you may have been exposed to COVID or other illnesses, and exercising care for everyone in attendance when it comes to health.

We will have masks and hand sanitizer available at registration.

The University of Delaware and its Surroundings

The University’s main campus is located one mile from the conference venue. Newark’s Main Street, with shops and restaurants, is centered around the idyllic campus with red brick buildings and green lawns. The University hosts an impressive array of exhibitions and collections: from minerals to textiles to artwork by faculty, there’s a wealth of interesting things on display.
